New Release Gaelic Cemetery Red Wines

Just released is the 2015 GC Celtic Farm Shiraz Cabernet blend. The 2015 Clare Valley vintage was a beauty and most producers in the region reported making very high quality red wines. The GC wines are no exception with our Celtic Farm blend offering excellent concentrated dark cherry and blackcurrant fruit with just the tiniest hint of cedary French oak. While it is enjoyable now it will take some time in the cellar with ease – 5-7 years won’t be an issue. Great value for a wine at less than $25/bottle!

Also just released is the 2014 GC Premium Shiraz. Fans of this wine will know what to expect – plenty of rich plum and dark cherry fruit, a touch of mocha from the oak and fine ferrous-like tannins that the GC soil imparts. As usual there is no hurry with this wine. Although quite drinkable now it will probably take a decade or more for the wine to reveal all of its inner self. We think 7-10 + years will see the wine somewhere approaching its best. We can also offer this wine under screwcap for the first time as well as the traditional natural cork closure – you choose. You get a fair mouthful of wine here for $48/bottle!

The last wine on the list of new releases is the 2014 GC Premium Cabernet Malbec. Quite possibly the best release of this gorgeous blend thus far from GC. The wine is chockful of ripe blackcurrant and mulberry fruit and is a fine example of Clare’s most traditional Cabernet blend. Subtle tones of cedary oak and some super-fine tannins provide complexity and structure to this terrific wine. Really enjoyable now, but cellaring for 8-12 + years will allow the to become more complex and the tannins to evolve and soften. At $48/bottle this wine is a bargain.
